DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Aug. 30, 2010) – The sixth season of the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour continues this weekend when the tour visits Langley Speedway in Hampton, Va., for the first time in the history of the tour for the running of the Langley Speedway 150.

Points Race Tightens For Whelen Honors

Just 6 points separate 4 drivers for final spot on Hall stage

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – With three weekends left, four drivers are looking to take that final spot on the stage at the Charlotte Convention Center's Crown Ballroom in the NASCAR Hall of Fame and join Connecticut’s Keith Rocco and Nebraska’s Craig Preble in the spotlight at the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Awards Banquet.

Rocco has already clinched the national championship. The 25-year-old Wallingford, Conn., driver has reached the maximum number of points available with 810.

Preble of Yutan, Neb., remains in second place with 777 points.

Top Southern Modified Tour contenders head to Langley

For the third consecutive race, there has been a change atop the leaderboard for the points championship.

After suffering a blown motor at Bristol Motor Speedway, L.W. Miller (No. 36 John Baker Plumbing & Utilities Pontiac) rebounded to take the lead after finishing second to Andy Seuss this past Saturday at Caraway Speedway in Asheboro, N.C.

James Civali (No. 79 Hill Enterprises/Coors Light/LeBleu Water Dodge) finished with a solid top-10 run, but still fell to third when a new name surfaced in the battle for the top spot in the overall points standings.

Ranger Steals One Back At Montreal

Collects third Canadian Tire win with bump-pass of Bowles

MONTREAL -- Andrew Ranger took one bump that nearly cost him the win and gave it right back to grab the checkered flag in the NAPA AUTOPRO 100 Sunday.

After losing the lead briefly to Jason Bowles on the white-flag lap, Ranger muscled past on the final turn to claim the victory in a NASCAR Canadian Tire Series presented by Mobil 1 race that he had dominated until the final circuit around the 2.709-mile Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.

Dillon Wins Gresham For First Career Victory

Series rookie takes over lead late in action-filled event

JEFFERSON, Ga. - Ty Dillon captured his first win in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East with a victory in the American Fence Association 150 presented by Mayfield Ice Creamier at Gresham Motorsports Park on Saturday.

Dillon, the 18-year-old grandson of NASCAR Sprint Cup Series car owner Richard Childress, inherited the top spot when the two leaders got together late in the event and then held on to win the action-filled race that concluded with a yellow-checkered finish.

ANTICIPATED RETURN: Track, Teams Glad To Partner Up For East's First Visit To Gresham

JEFFERSON, Ga. - The drivers praised the facility. Track management beamed about having NASCAR back after a long absence. And fans stood and cheered vociferously from driver introductions right through the checkered flag.

Ty Dillon's victory in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East American Fence Association 150 Saturday night came in the first NASCAR race held at Gresham Motorsports Park since a NASCAR All-Pro Series event in July of 1996 and first race for one of its top series since 1987.
