SAN LUIS POTOSI, Mexico – Rafael Martinez finally ended an almost year-long drought from Victory Lane in impressive style.
Ramirez was able to get his No. 18 Canel's/FICREA/LuK Mazda past pole sitter Homero Richards on Lap 250 just before the 12th and final caution flag of the was displayed during the event to set up the final dash for the win.
Daniel Suárez finished in second in his No. 3 TELCEL Dodge with rookie Héctor Aguirre finishing third.
The race win was the first for Martinez since Aug. 21, 2011 at Monterrey.
Jorge Goeters was fourth and Salvador Durán picked his career-best finish in fifth.
Finishing sixth through 10th was Abraham Calderón, Antonio Pérez, Ruben Pardo, José Luis Ramirez and Hugo Oliveras.
With his runner-up finish Suarez maintains his points lead by nine over Goeters 308-297. Homero Richards is third with 285 points Patrick Goeters sits third with 272 points.
The next race for the NASCAR Toyota Series will be held on Aug. 12 at Querétaro.
