Frazierville, Ont., Canada -- J.R. Fitzpatrick claimed his second straight pole award and fourth of the season Saturday afternoon in qualifying for the Pinty's 250 presented by Dodge at Kawartha Speedway. His 11 career poles puts him in a tie with Andrew Ranger and Don Thomson Jr. for most in NASCAR Canadian Tire Series presented by Mobil 1 history.

Fitzpatrick had a lap of 17.937 seconds (75.263 mph) around the .375-mile oval. He enters the season finale 23 points behind championship leader D.J. Kennington, who qualified fourth.

Scott Steckly qualified second with a lap of 18.044 (74.817). Steckly had just two laps of practice before damaging the back-end of his car following contact with the Turn 1 wall. The team was able to repair the damage in just enough time to get through pre-qualifying inspection.

Ranger qualified third at 18.103 (74.573), followed by Kennington and Pete Shepherd III.

Donald Chisholm, Mark Dilley, Ron Beauchamp Jr., Larry Jackson and Jeff Lapcevich rounded out the top 10.

Green flag is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
