VIDEO: Run To The Cup

Review of Canadian Tire Series final three races of 2012

October 3, 2012 - 11:43am

Throughout the season, NASCAR Home Tracks features a video recap of different series on Wednesdays.

Road To The Cup is a review of the final three races of the 2012 NASCAR Canadian Tire Series presented by Mobil 1 season. It was produced by Joel Robinson and edited by Dean Gariepy.

Pete Shepherd III was in the right place at the right time to take the victory in the Wahta Springs 300 Sunday at Barrie Speedway. A week after a fuel pump failure took a large chunk of his points lead, D.J. Kennington bounced right at Riverside Speedway and dominated the Wilson Equipment 300. Kennington capped his 2012 NASCAR Canadian Tire Series presented by Mobil 1 championship with a victory in the final race of the season, the Pinty's 250 presented by Dodge, at Kawartha Speedway.

It is the second championship in three years for the 35-year-old St. Thomas, Ont., driver. And it was his record seventh win in 12 races on the season.
