May 7, 2014 - 5:44am

WHAT TO WATCH FOR

• Súper Óvalo Potosino, a half-mile oval, has been a staple of the Toyota Series calendar since the its inception and the site of three-time series champion and current NASCAR Camping World Truck Series competitor Germán Quiroga’s first NASCAR victory. Suárez has an average finish of 10.9 in eight career trips to Súper Óvalo Potosino with a career-best finish of second in July 2012. Suárez currently holds a 14-point advantage over Antonio Pérez in the championship standings. Pérez is looking for his first win of the season and won at San Luis Potosí last August.

• For the first time in nearly 22 months, two-time national champion Lee Pulliam does not lead the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series national Division I standings, which were released for the first time this season on Tuesday. Anthony Anders on the power of eight early-season wins in 16 outings occupies the top spot followed by Dillon Bassett, Tommy Lemons Jr., Pulliam and Matt Bowling. NASAR Next’s Ryan Preece checks in at 18th after just six starts so far this year. A NASCAR Division I driver’s best 18 results through the Sept. 21 closing date count toward their state and national point totals and the champion is decided on overall point total.
