Langley To Host Touring & Weekly In 2017

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Bill Mullis made the big news announcement Friday: He had purchased Langley Speedway in Hampton, Virginia, and the historic track will re-open in 2017 to racing.

Sunday afternoon, Mullis continued the good news for racers and race fans. He announced the .4-mile oval will host the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East and newly unified NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour this season. In addition, the track will return to the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series with its weekly racing program.

Safety-Kleen Sponsors Whelen Mod Opener

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The 2017 season for the unified NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour will kick off in a big way with its March 18 event at Myrtle Beach Speedway, as the legacy of NASCAR’s top Modified drivers racing up and down the Atlantic coast continues at the historic venue.

Adding to the significance of the event, the track announced today that Safety-Kleen will be the entitlement sponsor for the kickoff. The race event, which will also feature NASCAR Whelen All-American Series action, will be the Performance Plus 300 presented by Safety-Kleen.

Starrett Announces '17 Sponsorship Program

ATHOL, Mass. – The L.S. Starrett Co. announced today that it will expand its motorsports marketing program by continuing support of the newly unified NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour.  Under the banner of Starrett Racing, the company will be the primary sponsor of the Flamingo Motorsports No. 16 with driver Timmy Solomito.  In addition, Starrett Racing will also support the future of the sport through a driver development program as the primary sponsor of the Matt Swanson Racing No. 89 and driver Matt Swanson.

Lia To Drive For Baldwin Racing

Best of 2016: Whelen Modified Tour

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Looking back at the 2016 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour season was one of change. New faces visited Victory Lane and challenged for championship. The season ended with the big news that the Whelen Modified Tour and Whelen Southern Modified Tour would unify for 2017, and the schedule for the upcoming season will open in South Carolina and conclude in Connecticut.

CHAMPION'S PROFILE: Myers Doubles Up

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – After six years away from championship glory on the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour, Burt Myers returned to the top of the class in 2016.

In a season filled with accolades for the 40-year-old Walnut Cove, N.C. driver, Myers captured three wins, nine top-fives and 11 top-10 finishes. He also scored two Coors Light Pole Awards over the course of the season, adding to his total (30) as the all-time pole award winner in the history of the Whelen Southern Modified Tour.
