QUALIFYING: Burton Will Start On Point

BRISTOL, Tenn. -- Harrison Burton may not have had the 2016 season he was looking for, but his production earned him a small bonus Friday when weather washed out qualifying at Bristol Motor Speedway.

Burton, who finished seventh in NASCAR K&N Pro Series East championship points last year, will start on the pole for today's Zombie Auto 125 after the lineup was set according to the rule book.

Garcia Tops Sole Practice Session

BRISTOL, Tenn. - In a day impacted by weather, Ruben Garcia Jr. still managed the make the most of the opportunity.

Ripping around Bristol Motor Speedway in 15.861 seconds (120.976 mph), the native of Mexico City, Mexico, topped the lone practice session for the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East. The sophomore driver ran 55 totals laps in his No. 6 UTI/NTI Toyota.

Finishing second quick was Jesse Little, the 20-year-old who is making his first East start of 2017 in his No. 97 NASCAR Technical Institute Toyota. He trailed Garcia by only 0.001 seconds.

Benjamin Goes Back-To-Back at Greenville

GREENVILLE, S.C. – Kyle Benjamin capitalized on a late-race restart to win the Kevin Whitaker Chevrolet 150 at Greenville Pickens Speedway on Saturday night.

Benjamin won the 21 Means 21 Pole Award presented by Coors Brewing Co. earlier in the evening after running a track record lap of 19.144 seconds (94.024 mph) around the newly repaved half-mile. The Easley, South Carolina, native ran inside the top-five nearly all night long and led 46 laps. At the halfway mark on lap 75, Benjamin in the No. 40 MDM Motorsports Toyota was running third.

GREENVILLE, S.C. – Kyle Benjamin, a native of Easley, South Carolina destroyed the track record in group qualifying to sit on the 21 Means 21 Pole for Saturday’s Kevin Whitaker Chevrolet 150 at Greenville Pickens Speedway.

Benjamin, driver of the No. 40 MDM Motorsports Toyota ran a lap of 19.144 seconds at 94.024 mph to capture the pole on Saturday afternoon. The previous track record was a lap of 20.534 seconds at 87.659 mph set by Brett Moffitt back in April of 2011. The newly paved corners at Greenville is what’s attributing to the faster lap times.

NAPA 500 Challenge: 4 Races In 8 Days

ROSEVILLE, Calif. – Three popular race tracks in the Southwest will host four races in eight days for NASCAR K&N Pro Series teams next month, with big bonuses up for grabs as part of the NAPA 500 Challenge.

To be eligible for the bonus money, which includes a giant $100,000 award if a driver can win all four races, drivers must pre-register by March 1 at BMRNAPA.com. There is no cost to register.
