Champions Battle In iRacing Challenge

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Fans and champions competed side-by-side in the first NASCAR Home Tracks Champions Challenge presented by iRacing.com Wednesday at the NASCAR Hall of Fame.

NASCAR fan and occasional iRacing competitor Ricky Hardin, of Fort Mill, S.C., edged NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour champion Ryan Preece to win the final event that was competed in NASCAR Sprint Cups Series Generation-6 cars on the 1.5-mile oval at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Champions Week Kicks Off In Charlotte

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – NASCAR’s top drivers throughout its regional touring and weekly series will be in the spotlight this week in Charlotte, N.C., with a bevy of activities leading up to the awards ceremonies Friday and Saturday night.

The NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Awards will take place Friday, Dec. 13. Among those honored will be the 2013 national champion Lee Pulliam, as well as track champions from 55 tracks across the United States and Canada, state and provincial champions and top rookies.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – In just two seasons, Ander Vilariño has gone from NASCAR neophyte to standard bearer.

After winning six of 12 races en route to his first NASCAR Whelen Euro Series title in 2012, was it possible for the resident of San Sebastián, Spain, to have an even more prolific season in 2013?

Just as it did a season ago, the year got off to a flying start for the 34-year-old driver of the No. 2 TFT/Banco Santander Chevrolet by winning the season-opening races at Circuit Paul Armagnac in Nogaro, France.

Vilarino Wins Second Whelen Euro Title

LEMANS, France -- Ander Vilariño overcame another near disaster Sunday to claim his second straight NASCAR Whelen Euro Series championship.

The 33-year-old from Spain was spun in the closing minutes of the season finale for the Elite Division on the 2.655-mile Circuit Le Mans Bugatti at LeMans, but he recovered to drive his No. 2 TFT-Banco Santander Chevrolet to a fourth-place finish.

Gabillon Leads Wire-To-Wire At LeMans

LEMANS, France -- Frédéric Gabillon did what he needed to do - driving to the win Saturday - and Ander Vilarino avoided near disaster to remain firmly in control of the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series championship battle.

Gabillon led wire-to-wire to pick up his third win of the season. The 37-year-old Frenchman earned the pole in qualifying Saturday morning and kept the No. 5 Rapido Racing by Still Chevrolet out front for all 17 laps on the 2.655-mile Circuit Le Mans Bugatti at LeMans Saturday afternoon.

QUALIFYING: Gabillon On Point At LeMans

LEMANS, France -- Frédéric Gabillon is looking to challenge Ander Vilarino for the 2013 NASCAR Whelen Euro Series championship, and he'll start the final weekend at the front of the field.

Gabillon won the pole award for the Elite Division race with a fast lap of 2 minutes, 9.505 seconds around the 2.655-mile Circuit Le Mans Bugatti at LeMans.

The link to the 2013 Euro-Racecar Series Most Popular Driver ballot is being hosted on www.nascarhometracks.com. Fans may vote once per day and are encouraged to vote throughout the season. Voting continues through Nov. 17.

Zimmer Breaks Through For First Win

Official Release

MONZA, Italy – Yann Zimmer was undeterred by a wet track as he drove to his first career NASCAR Whelen Euro Series victory Sunday in the second round of the Elite Division semifinal at Autodromo di Monza.

The 23-year-old Swiss driver held off a late run by Frédéric Gabillon on the last turn of the last lap to put the No. 33 OverDrive in Victory Lane.
Gabillon (No. 5 Rapido Racing by Still) settled for second and points leader Ander Vilarino (No. 2 TFT - Banco Santander) was third. Vilariño won the first round at Monza Saturday.
