QUALIFYING: Vilarino Tops Spa Field

Euro Racecar Series release

FRANCORCHAMPS, Belgium – On the long and fast Spa-Francorchamps race track, Ander Vilarino scored his third pole position of Euro-Racecar Series season.

With a time of 2:33.853 -- nearly one second quicker than the fast time he set in practice Friday -- Vilarino (#2 TFT-Banco Santander) bested the rest of the field by .454.

FRANCORCHAMPS, Belgium - Championship leader Ander Vilarino continued to set the pace in the Euro-Racecar Series Friday during the four-hour practice session as the series made its debut at Spa-Francorchamps.

The Spaniard (#2 TFT-Banco Santander) covered the 7.004 km (4.353-miles) in 2 minutes 34.708 seconds (162.81 km/h – 101.193 mph).

He beat his countryman Javier Villa (#64 Gonneau Racing), who was second fastest at 2:35.018.

BRANDS HATCH, England – Spain’s Javier Villa ended the winning streak of Ander Vilarino Sunday in the Open Endurance race of Brands Hatch 200, the second race weekend of the Euro Racecar Series.

In Open Division, Adriano Medeiros became the first Brazilian to win a race in the championship.

Villa (#64 TFT Chevrolet Camaro) and Vilarino (# 2 TFT-Banco Santander) battled door-to-door for nearly the entire 24 laps of the Elite segment, before Villa finally took the lead for good on the 22nd lap.

Vilarino Makes It 3-for-3

BRANDS HATCH, England - Ander Vilarino won the Sprint portion of the Elite Division's Brands Hatch 200 to kick off the second race weekend of the Euro Racecar season.

It is his third victory in three races. The Spanish driver finished ahead of runner-up Romain Thievin, and third-place Javier Villa.

After qualifying played on a wet-greasy track, the Elite Sprint ran under clear skies and a coating completely dry.

BLOIS, France – The third and fourth rounds of the 2012 EURO-RACECAR NASCAR Touring Series will stand on May 18-20 on the English circuit of Brands Hatch. Ander Vilarino will try to confirm his leading position but with the opposition of the usual contenders such as Romain Thievin and Javier Villa but also news drivers from Europe, Latin America and Asia. 45 drivers will fight on the famous English green.

Vilarino Sweeps Way Into Record Book

NOGARO, France – Ander Vilarino capped a sweep of the opening race event Monday by claiming the Elite Division Endurance portion of the Nogaro 200 before more than 38,000 at Circuit Paul Armagnac

Vilarino, who won the pole Saturday and the 25-minute Sprint race Sunday, rolled to the win in Monday’s finale – a 60-minute race in which the Elite driver who started the race receives points based on the running order at the midway time, where there is a driver change, and the teammate from the Open (or amateur) Division receives points based on the finish.

Vilarino Sprints To First Win

NOGARO, France – Ander Vilarino wrote his name in the history books Sunday, becoming the first Euro-Racecar winner under the NASCAR banner with his victory in the Elite Division Sprint portion of the Nogaro 200. The win came before a capacity crowd at Circuit Paul Armagnac amid rain and cold temperatures.

Vilarino posted the top time in Friday’s practice and earned the pole position in Saturday’s qualifying.

QUALIFYING: Vilarino Claims 1st Pole

NOGARO, France – Spain’s Ander Vilarino claimed the honor of being the first Euro-Racecar pole winner under the NASCAR banner Saturday at Circuit Paul Armagnac.

Vilarino earned the top spot with a lap of 1 minute, 35.642 seconds (136.9 km/h) on the 3.636 km (2.259 miles) road course. Qualifying for the Nogaro 200 was held in group, road-course format during a 15-minute session.
