DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – NASCAR announced today that the points system all NASCAR national series began using this year will be instituted in the regional touring level for 2012.
The points system was simplified to make it easier for fans, competitors and the industry to understand.
Beginning in 2012, the system will be integrated into the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East, NASCAR K&N Pro Series West, NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour, NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour, NASCAR Canadian Tire Series and NASCAR Mexico Series.> More
MEXICO CITY – Homero Richards won the Final Mexico 200, the 2011 NASCAR Mexico Series presented by Toyota season finale, on Sunday at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez.
It was the second hometown win of the season for Richards and the third in his last four races at the one-mile track in the Mexican capital. Additionally, it was his fifth win of the season and the ninth of his 84-race series career.> More
MEXICO CITY – Elliot Van Rankin had the fastest car on the track for NASCAR Mexico Series presented by Toyota practice at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez on Saturday.
Van Rankin, a resident of Mexico City, made his way around the one-mile track in 32.713 seconds and was followed by Homero Richards, who won at the track on July 17, with a time of 32.718 seconds.
The third-quickest time of the day was registered by Rafael Martínez at 32.729 seconds followed by the 32.784-second lap recorded by Irwin Vences.> More

AGUASCALIENTES, Mexico – Germán Quiroga put an exclamation point on his season on Sunday with a victory in the Aguascalientes 240 to clinch his third straight NASCAR Mexico Series championship.
At Nuevo Autódromo de Aguascalientes, Quiroga, in his familiar No. 2 TELCEL/FexEx Dodge, took the lead on a green-white-checkered finish to beat runner-up Patrick Goeters to the line by .269 seconds followed closely by Antonio Pérez in third.> More
