PRACTICE: Burton Sets Pace Early

DOVER, Del. – Harrison Burton made a statement in the sole NASCAR K&N Pro Series East practice session on Friday at Dover International Speedway setting the fastest lap for the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation 125 presented by Carl Deputy & Son Builders.

The NASCAR Next driver, who came to Dover with plenty of confidence as he battles for the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East championship with Todd Gilliland, recorded a 153.741 mph lap during the one hour and 20 minute session.

DOVER, Del. - NASCAR Next drivers Todd Gilliland and Harrison Burton will face off for the 2017 NASCAR K&N Pro Series East championship at Dover International Speedway on Friday, September 29 – the final showdown of the season.

Gilliland enters the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation 125 presented by Carl Deputy & Son Builders with an eight-point advantage over Burton. The 17-year-old, Sherrills Ford, North Carolina, native has all the confidence he needs as he looks to seal the deal and win his first K&N Pro Series East championship.

Purdy Clinches Sunoco Rookie Title

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Chase Purdy nabbed his second consecutive NASCAR Rookie of the Year title.

The 17-year-old has clinched the 2017 NASCAR K&N Pro Series East Sunoco Rookie of the Year title, one year after receiving the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Rookie of the Year honor.

“It’s pretty cool getting the title for the second year,” said the Meridian, Mississippi, native. “We’ve had a good year and while we haven’t won yet we’re getting closer.”

Tripleheader Weekend Set For NHMS

LOUDON, N.H. – History will be made next September at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. The 1.058-mile speedway is set to host a three-race weekend that will feature the longest NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour race in history, a global cast of drivers from the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East, PEAK Mexico and Whelen Euro series, and for the first time ever, the NASCAR Pinty’s Series, which has never previously held a race outside of Canada. The weekend is tentatively scheduled for Sept. 21-22 of 2018.

Rodgers Prevails at New Jersey

MILLVILLE, N.J. – Will Rodgers continued his road-course mastery Saturday.

The 22-year-old from Murrieta, California, drove away from NASCAR K&N Pro Series East championship points leader Todd Gilliland en route to winning the JustDrive.com 125 at New Jersey Motorsports Park. The victory was Rogers’ second career win in the series and his second of the season – both victories coming at road courses.

QUALIFYING: Collin Cabre Claims NJMP Pole

MILLVILLE, N.J. – Collin Cabre picked up his first career NASCAR K&N Pro Series pole at New Jersey Motorsports Park on Saturday afternoon.

The Rev Racing driver set the fast lap at 1:23.914 at the 2.25 mile road course, beating out Will Rodgers for the pole.  Rodgers timed in a 1:24.025 second lap.

MILLVILLE, N.J. – Harrison Burton, who enters Saturday’s JustDrive.com 125 at New Jersey Motorsports Park second in point, was fastest in the morning practice session.

Burton paced practice with a lap time of 1:24.266 at the 2.25 mile road course.  Will Rodgers was second quickest with a 1:24.657 lap time while Collin Cabre, Chase Cabre and Ruben Garcia, Jr. rounded out the top-five.
