QUALIFYING: Kraus Notches First Pole

NEWTON, Iowa — Derek Kraus sped through two qualifying laps at bumpy Iowa Speedway as if he was a veteran who had always raced there.

Kraus, a 15-year-old from Stratford, Wis., won the pole for Friday night’s Casey's General Store 150 presented by Vatterott College, the annual NASCAR K&N Pro Series East and West combination race at the .875-mile oval.

NEWTON, Iowa — The fastest times in Friday’s practice sessions for the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East and West Casey’s General Store 150 Presented by Vatterott College at Iowa Speedway belonged to teammates.

Bill McAnally Racing drivers Todd Gilliland and Chris Eggleston were at the top of the leaderboard in both rounds at the .875-mile oval.

Harvick Holds Off Rodgers for Sonoma Win

SONOMA, Calif. -- Kevin Harvick made his NASCAR K&N Pro Series West return and he delivered.

The Bakersfield, California, native dominated the Carneros 200 at Sonoma Raceway. Harvick held off hard-charging Sunoco Rookie of the Year contender in Will Rodgers, while the rest of the field was more than nine seconds back.

SONOMA, Calif -- Will Rodgers will lead the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West field, which includes some of stock car racing's best, to the green flag Saturday afternoon in his home state.

The 22-year-old Murrieta, California, native posted a time of 1:17.949 seconds (91.906 mph) around the 12-turn road course, to score his first career K&N Pro Series West 21 Means 21 Pole Award. The lap came in his second of two circuits in his No. 7 Solvang Brewing Company Ford, and was less than one mph off the track record set by Kyle Larson in 2014.

PRACTICE: Self Tops Sonoma Speed Charts

SONOMA, Calif. -- Michael Self was quickest in the only NASCAR K&N Pro Series West practice session Friday afteroon for the Carneros 200 at Sonoma Raceway. Self's No. 9 Sunrise Ford/Eibach Springs Lucas Oil/Braille Batteries Ford turned a lap of 1:18.524 seconds (91.233 mph) around the 12-turn road course.

The Park City, Utah, native's fastest lap came on his 15th and final run of the session and he was one of three drivers to clock laps north of the 90-mph bracket.

Eggleston Hits A Home Run At Colorado

DACONO, Colo. -- Chris Eggleston has made it clear that he's in the championship fight for the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West title.

For the second straight race, the 28-year-old from Erie, Colorado, won the Coors Light Pole Award and then pulled away from the field en route to the checkered flag. Saturday night, the win came at Eggleston's home track of Colorado National Speedway in the NAPA/Toyota 150.
