SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. -- Chris Eggleston topped the speed charts in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West at Orange Show Speedway on Saturday afternoon, showing competitors right off the bat that he and the No. 99 NAPA Filters/NAPA Power Premium Toyota team meant business.
Eggleston's lap of 13.311 seconds (67.613 mph), coming in the second session, was the fastest lap out of two practice sessions for the Orange Show 150 at the quarter-mile oval. He was third on the speed charts in the first practice, turning a lap of 13.538 seconds (66.480 mph) as well. Eggleston is the defending winner of this event.
Series points leader and Eggleston's teammate, Todd Gilliland, was second overall in the two sessions, turning a fastest lap of 13.333 seconds (67.502 mph). Rounding out the top five overall speeds were Michael Self, Derek Kraus and Will Rogers.
Self had the fastest lap in the first practice.
Sheldon Creed held the top spot for most of the first practice and ended up sixth on the overall speed charts. Nicole Behar, Blaine Perkins, Ron Norman and Julia Landauer rounded out the top ten.
The Orange Show 150 will go green at 8:15 p.m. from Orange Show Speedway.
