Bowman Gray Set To Celebrate 60th

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Seventeen action-packed nights of racing and special added attractions are scheduled for the 2008 season at Bowman Gray Stadium, the 60th year for the legendary track.

This season will feature all the exciting events that drew crowds of thousands last year, including the Advance Auto Parts Night on Friday, August 1, where fans are able to gain admission with a $1.99 ticket purchased at participating Advance Auto Parts stores. On June 28, a new promotion from Savage Energy Drink will allow fans to purchase a ticket for $2 off normal adult admission with a Savage Energy Drink Bottle Cap.

The Monster Truck car-crushing exhibition, NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour race, Demolition Derbies, Chain Races, as well as races for the Stadium Stock, Street Stock, Sportsman, and – of course- the Modified Divisions will be more than enough reasons to come out to the Stadium this year. New to the Stadium this year will be a special treat for the fans: a parachute jump by the Green Berets on June 28.

Returning Title Sponsors include Tucson, Carolina Wood Floors, USG, Whelen, Baity’s Discount Tire Sales, Craftsman, Advance Auto Parts, The Winston-Salem Journal, and Carolina Farm Credit. New to the list of Title Sponsors for 2008 are WSSU Motorsports, Savage Energy Drink, Farm Bureau Insurance, and R.A.U.D. (Racers Against Underage Drinking).

The season starts on Saturday, April 26 with the Tucson 200 – with Qualifying for the Tucson 200 taking place on Friday, April 25 from 5-7 p.m.
