BOWMANVILLE, Ont -- Kevin Lacroix has been unstoppable at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park as of late and continued that dominance by winning the E3 Spark Plugs Pole Award Saturday, for Sunday's Total Quartz 200.

The Saint-Eustache, Quebec, driver set a lap time of 1 minute 22.521 seconds (107.275mph) to claim his second pole at the 2.459 mile road course. Lacroix also added another accolade to his resume by smashing the track record of 1:22.770 set by Alex Tagliani in 2016.

Lacroix's No.74 Bumper to Bumper/Total/Gates/Gofast Dodge has won the last two consecutive races at CTMP dating back to last fall, and he is coming into this race 36 points behind series points leader Alex Labbe.

Anthony Simone logged the second fastest time of 1:22.635 (107.127mph) also beating the previous track record. This marks Simone's first front row start since the 2014 Budweiser 300 at Autodrome Chaudiere. Alex Tagliani scored the third fastest time of 1:22.640 (107.120mph), he also beat the old track record.

D.J Kennington and L.P Dumoulin round out the top five starters.

Andrew Ranger and Gary Klutt start sixth and seventh respectively.

While Marc-Antoine Camirand, Jason Hathaway and Matthew Scannell complete the top ten.

Series points leader Alex Labbe reportedly suffered a broken transmission during his qualfying run and will start from the rear of the field on Sunday.

The green flag for the Total Quartz 200 is set to drop at 11:05 a.m on Sunday.
