ALASKA TRACK FACTS

Alaska Raceway is a unique third-mile oval asphalt track in the scenic mountains of Palmer, Alaska, just north of Anchorage. The raceway was opened in 1964 as a drag strip with the oval opening in 2016 as part of the NASCAR Whelen All- American Series. 

• Drag strip was the only Alaska IHRA member track in March 1, 1995, made possible by Gregg Gunnarson.
• 2003 - Named Track of the Year for “positive growth and success on the track."
• The track is 63 feet above sea level.
• The massive 6,398- foot Pioneer Peak awaits drivers at the finish line.
