WHAT TO WATCH FOR

• Bob Bruncati’s teams have won three of the last six NASCAR K&N Pro Series West visits to Sonoma Raceway, and he’ll bring a pair of rising young stars in Dylan Lupton and James Bickford to the 2.52-mile road course Saturday. The event, which runs in companion to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) race on Sunday, has been won by an NSCS driver four times since 2006, and this year’s entry list includes Ricky Stenhouse Jr., Austin Dillon and Kyle Larson.

• Ben Rhodes will be making his first NASCAR K&N Pro Series East start at Langley Speedway in Hampton, Va. Track unfamiliarity hasn’t slowed the 17-year-old NASCAR Next driver. Rhodes has picked up wins at Bowman Gray Stadium in Winston-Salem, N.C., and Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, Fla., in the last three weeks — two tracks he had never raced on — as part of winning four times in a five-race stretch. Rhodes is the first driver to win three straight East races since Matt Kobyluck in 2008 and holds a 55-point lead in the points standings halfway through the season.

• Doug Coby (2012) and Ryan Preece (2013) battled each other door-to-door for the win in each of the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour visits to Waterford Speedbowl, and they’ll look to do it again Saturday at the banked .375-mile oval. Each time, the race winner has gone on to win the championship. Coby is coming off a win in the tour’s last race at Stafford Motor Speedway, but defending tour champion Preece is outside the top 10 in points and looking for his first victory.
