CHARLOTTE, N.C. – NASCAR history was recognized and its future celebrated Saturday evening as seven champions in NASCAR’s touring series were honored at the Night of Champions Touring Awards at the NASCAR Hall of Fame.
The ceremony featured the champions and top drivers from the regional touring series in North America and Europe, who gathered for the special year-end event. It’s the first season a driver from Europe has been honored at the event.> More

Galpin, the founder of the Euro-Racecar NASCAR Touring Series, was joined at the NASCAR Grand Champions Touring Awards in the Grand Ballroom at the Westin Hotel by inaugural series champion Ander Vilarino of Spain. Vilarino was one of seven NASCAR touring series champions honored at the morning awards ceremony.> More
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Winning championships is nothing new to Ander Vilarino, but sealing the 2012 Euro-Racecar NASCAR Touring Series crown represents a special achievement for the 32-year-old, as he is still quite new to stock-car racing.
As a stock-car rookie in 2011, Vilarino finished third in the standings with a pair of wins, six top fives and three pole positions which set the table for a title run in 2012. On Jan. 11, though, the stakes got a little higher.> More
Much of the success for the No. 2 TFT-Banco Santander Chevrolet team during the 2012 season belongs to crew chief Tony Pereira. As well as leading the TFT squad to the Euro-Racecar NASCAR Touring Series title, the 40-year-old Gers, France native forged a bond with driver Ander Vilarino that contributed greatly to their triumph.
