QUALIFYING: Richards Wins Mexico City Pole

MEXICO CITY – Homero Richards won the pole position in NASCAR Toyota Series qualifying on Saturday for the Final Mexico Toyota 200 at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez.

Competing in his hometown, Richards garnered his third pole position of the season and the 13th of his series career by logging a time of 32.371 seconds for an average speed of 111.211 mph on the flat one-mile oval. He is mathematically alive for the championship to be decided on Sunday, but will be eliminated once points leader Jorge Goeters takes the green flag.

Toyota Series Title On The Line

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Championships are the measure of success and one NASCAR Toyota Series driver will achieve that validation on Sunday, Nov. 11 at Mexico City’s Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez by claiming the 2012 title.

The 14-race schedule reaches its conclusion in the Final Mexico Toyota 200 and three drivers – Jorge Goeters, Daniel Suárez and Homero Richards – are mathematically alive for the season’s ultimate prize.

Pardo Charges To Chihuahua Win

CHIHUAHUA, Mexico – Rubén Pardo won the inaugural race at El Dorado Speedway, but Jorge Goeters was the biggest winner of the day.

Pardo took the lead from Rubén Rovelo on Lap 223 and was able to hold him off at the finish line by .349 seconds to claim the Chihuahua 200 in NASCAR Toyota Series action on Sunday. For Pardo, hailing from Mexico City, it was his fourth career series win and first since Sept. 18, 2005.

QUALIFYING: Rovelo Sets Chihuahua Pace

CHIHUAHUA, Mexico – Rúben Rovelo claimed the pole position for the Chihuahua 200 in NASCAR Toyota Series qualifying on Saturday at El Dorado Speedway.

Rovelo, out of Mexico City, recorded a lap time of 19.624 seconds for an average speed of 114.656 mph in the christening event at the .625-mile concrete oval with 20 degrees of banking in the corners. It’s Rovelo’s fifth series career pole with the last coming Nov. 22, 2009.

Most Popular Driver Balloting Remains Open

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – While the championship battles have been settled in four of the seven NASCAR regional touring series, the winner for each of the series’ Most Popular Driver Award are still very much up for grabs.

Most Popular Driver voting has already surpassed last year’s record level – with more than 140,000 votes cast online at NASCAR.com since balloting opened in August.

Mexico Series adds Phoenix race in 2013

March race weekend at Phoenix International Raceway next season has taken on an international flavor.

The track, NASCAR and series manager OCESA announced Tuesday in Phoenix that the NASCAR Mexico Toyota Series will make its inaugural race in the United States on Friday, March 1 as part of the Subway Fresh Fit NASCAR Sprint Cup Series weekend.

Goeters Brothers Sweep Monterrey

MONTERREY, Mexico -- Jorge Goeters closed to within two points of the championship lead with his second win of the season Sunday in the Regia 200. It was Goeters 13th career NASCAR Toyota Series victory.

Jorge's brother, Patrick Goeters, finished second on the 1-mile oval. Daniel Suarez, who was running as far back as 20h, rallied o end up third and maintain his slim points lead with two races remaining in the season.

QUALIFYING: Ramírez Tops In Monterrey

MONTERREY, Mexico – José Luis Ramírez earned the pole position in NASCAR Toyota Series qualifying on Saturday at Autódromo Monterrey for the Regia 200.

Ramírez registered a time of 35.995 seconds on the one-mile oval for an average speed of 100.014 mph. It is the second pole of the 2012 season for Ramírez and the third of his series career.
