DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – While four of the six NASCAR regional touring series have crowned champions, fans still have a final say in who will win the Most Popular Driver Awards, as balloting remains open for all series through Nov. 20.
While balloting is still open for nearly three more weeks, Most Popular Driver voting has already received a record level of participation in 2011 with more than 109,000 votes cast since balloting opened in mid-July.> More
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – With two races remaining in the NASCAR Mexico Series season, Enrique Contreras III has clinched the 2011 Rookie of the Year Award.
Contreras, 18, a third-generation driver out of Mexico City and pilot of the No. 77 Big Bola Casinos/Motul Lubricants Dodge, was the top-rookie on five occasions. QUERÉTARO, Mexico – After five second-place finishes this season, Germán Quiroga finally got his first NASCAR Mexico Series victory in 2011 on Sunday in the Queretana 200 at Autódromo del Ecocentro de la Unión Ganadera.
The two-time defending series champion out of Mexico City aboard his No. 2 TELCEL/FedEx Dodge outdueled Homero Richards over the final few laps on the .746-mile oval to collect the win, the 15th of his series career.> More
MEXICO CITY – The NASCAR Mexico Series officials has announced that the Oct. 23 event originally scheduled for Autódromo de Chiapas in Tuxtla Guitiérrez, Mexico has been moved to Autódromo Potosino in San Luis Potosí due to ongoing repairs to the racing surface in Chiapas.> More
