Pinty's Series News & Notes: Jukasa

Lapcevich To Be Honored By Canadian Hall

Stock car racer Cayden Lapcevich, the youngest national racing champion in Canadian history, has been named the Canadian Motorsport Hall of Fame's Rising Star Award winner for 2017. 

Lapcevich, of Grimsby, Ont., became the youngest ever NASCAR national champion when he took home the 2016 NASCAR Pinty’s Series Canadian stock car championship at the age of 16 years, 10 months and 16 days.

“I'd like to be able to say that young Cayden Lapcevich is a future champion in our sport, but he beat me to it,” said CMHF chairman Dr. Hugh Scully.

Labbe Dominates for St-Eustache Victory

ST-EUSTACHE, Que -- Alex Labbe's 2017 NASCAR Pinty's Series season has been nothing short of amazing. He continued his dream season Saturday night by winning the Lucas Oil 250 presented by Bumper to Bumper and Coors Light at Autodrome St-Eustache. 

The 24-year-old driver from Victoriaville, Quebec, came into this event with the championship points lead over Kevin Lacroix, and the two battled hard in the early stages of the race.

QUALIFYING: Lacroix Rolls to St-Eustache Pole

ST-EUSTACHE, Que -- Kevin Lacroix put on a dominating performance last race at CTMP. He continued his domination by winning the E3 Spark Plugs Pole Award for the Lucas Oil 250 presented by Bumper to Bumper and Coors Light at Autodome St-Eustache.

The St-Eustache, Quebec, driver set a lap time of 17.171 seconds (83.862mph) to claim pole at the 0.4 mile bullring. His second consecutive pole in the NASCAR Pinty's Series and fourth of 2017. Lacroix's time just barely missed the track record of 17.139 set by Alex Labbe in 2014.

PRACTICE: Labbe Fastest at St.Eustache

ST-EUSTACHE, Que -- Points leader Alex Labbe has been fast at the oval tracks all year. He continued his fast pace by setting the quickest time during practice for the NASCAR Pinty's Series' Lucas Oil 250 presented by Bumper to Bumper and Coors Light at Autodrome St-Eustache. 

The 24-year-old driver from Victoriaville, Quebec, set a blistering lap time of 17.224 seconds (83.604mph) around the 0.4 mile bullring to top the speed charts.

Martin Has Josten's Rookie Title Wrapped Up

TORONTO -- When Adam Martin decided to compete full-time during the 2017 season in the NASCAR Pinty’s Series he and his team set some specific goals.

Among those goals were to win the Jostens Rookie of the Year Award and he can now say it: Mission Accomplished.

By taking the green flag last week at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, the recently turned 20 year-old driver clinched his first post-season award in the series.

Pinty's Series News & Notes: St. Eustache

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Kevin Lacroix did everything he could to move closer to Alex Labbe as the Quebec drivers continue their battle for the 2017 NASCAR Pinty’s Series championship.

Lacroix tied Andrew Ranger’s series record with his third consecutive win at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park last week and was able to shave 10 points off of Labbe’s lead in the standings. Lacroix, who along with Labbe has won four Pinty’s Series races this season, sits 26 points behind in second place with two events remaining on the 2017 schedule.

Lacroix Leaves No Doubt With CTMP Sweep

BOWMANVILLE, Ont -- Since Kevin Lacroix figured out Canadian Tire Motorsport Park last fall, he has been nothing short of unstoppable on the historic road course. He continued his CTMP domination by winning the Total Quartz 200 on Sunday. 

The Saint-Eustache, Quebec, driver won the E3 Spark Plug Pole Award with a record lap Saturday and then led 40 laps Sunday en route to his third consecutive win at the 2.459-mile road course. Lacroix put everyone but the top six a lap down in the 51-lap event and out-distanced runner-up Alex Tagliani by 26.805 seconds.

QUALIFYING: Lacroix Thunders to CTMP Pole

BOWMANVILLE, Ont -- Kevin Lacroix has been unstoppable at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park as of late and continued that dominance by winning the E3 Spark Plugs Pole Award Saturday, for Sunday's Total Quartz 200. 

The Saint-Eustache, Quebec, driver set a lap time of 1 minute 22.521 seconds (107.275mph) to claim his second pole at the 2.459 mile road course. Lacroix also added another accolade to his resume by smashing the track record of 1:22.770 set by Alex Tagliani in 2016.
