NASCAR Drivers To Appear At Columbus Clippers Game Friday

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Four NASCAR developmental drivers will appear at the Columbus Clippers baseball game at Cooper Stadium in Columbus, Ohio on Friday, Aug. 22 in advance of Saturday’s doubleheader of racing action at Mansfield (Ohio) Motorsports Park.

Mansfield Motorsports Park hosts the NASCAR Camping World Series East’s return to short-track racing with the Mansfield 150 Saturday, August 23.

Following last week’s final road-course event of the season, many teams welcome the return to the more familiar ovals, especially the .500-mile short-track showcase in central Ohio.

“I’m excited to go back there,” said Eddie Mac Donald, (No. 71 Grimm Construction Chevrolet).

Plans To Make Nationwide Debut At Richmond

Austin Dillon, grandson of championship-winning team owner Richard Childress, will make his Nationwide Series debut Sept. 5 at Richmond International Raceway.

The 18-year-old is competing for a championship in NASCAR's Camping World Series East Series and sits third in the point standings. His progression and victory earlier this year, however, prompted Richard Childress Racing to give Dillon a shot at making a Nationwide Series race.

Rock And Roll For Kobyluck

LAKEVILLE, Conn. – Matt Kobyluck arrived at Lime Rock Park for the Mohegan Sun 200 Saturday afternoon carrying the NASCAR Camping World Series East points lead for the first time in two years. He added to that lead by posting his third staight win to more than double his lead. It was Kobyluck's fourth victory overall on the season.

Kobyluck led 41 of 82 laps in the No. 40 Mohegan Sun Chevrolet, and relaxed during a 75-minute rain delay 51 laps into the event.

Qualifying: Rain Soaks Lime Rock

LAKEVILLE, Conn. - Rain washed out NASCAR Camping World Series East qualifying at Lime Rock Park Friday afternoon for Saturday's Mohegan Sun 200. The starting field was set by the rule book.

Matt Kobyluck (No. 40 Mohegan Sun Resort Chevrolet) will start on the pole the race, scheduled to take the green at 1 p.m. Kobyluck, the series points leader, has won two of the last three NASCAR Camping World Series East races at Lime Rock and posted the fastest time over Friday's two one-hour practice sessions.

Matt Kobyluck and his No. 40 Mohegan Sun Resort Chevrolet arrives at Lime Rock Park this Saturday with history behind him and momentum pushing him forward.

Kobyluck will take to the newly-repaved 1.53-mile road course as the series’ new points leader. It’s the first time the Uncasville, Conn., driver has led the points since the completion of the fourth race of 2006 at Thompson (Conn.) International Speedway.
