SEEKONK, Mass. -- Ryan Preece unloaded as the fastest NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour car on Saturday at Seekonk (Mass.) Speedway. Behind the wheel of his No. 6 TS Hauler/Hoosier Tire of Calverton Chevrolet, Preece paced the only practice round for the Seekonk 150 with a fast lap of 11.979 seconds (99.174 mph). Preece will look for his fifth win of the season later on Saturday.
Jon McKennedy was second in the session behind the wheel of his No. 00 with a time of 12.023 seconds. David Sapienza, who has two top five finishes this season, was third with a lap of 12.041 seconds. Matt Hirschman and Rowan Pennink rounded out the top five.
Six through 10 in the session went to Doug Coby, Craig Lutz, Timmy Solomito, Andrew Krause and Ted Christopher.
The NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour teams return to the track for Coors Light Pole Qualifying at 5:30 p.m. tonight. The Seekonk 150 is slated to take the green flag at approximately 8 p.m.
