Kumpen Edges Haley For Karting Honors

MOORESVILLE, N.C. – Anthony Kumpen flew more than 4,000 miles to be part of the NASCAR Champions activities in North Carolina this week. And after 15 laps around the 11-turn, 0.7-mile GoPro Motorplex Thursday, Kumpen walked away with bragging rights by the slimmest of margins.

How narrow? Try .053 seconds.

Kumpen, the two-time NASCAR Whelen Euro Series champion, edged NASCAR K&N Pro East champion Justin Haley by a mere few feet at the finish line to claim the checkered flag of the eighth Champions Karting Challenge.

Alberto Cola Wins At The Motor Show

Alberto Cola (#44 CAAL Racing Chevrolet SS) grabbed the win in the first edition of the Trofeo Angelo Caffi at the end of two nail-biting runs in front of the enthusiast fans that crowded the grandstands of the Area 48 Arena at the Bologna Motor Show. The Monza-native and the other finalist Gianmarco Ercoli (#9 Double-T by Nocentini Ford Mustang) took one round each and the CAAL Racing driver took the win thanks to a .11 seconds advantage. > More

NWES Drivers Flying To The NASCAR Hall Of Fame

Thirteen NASCAR Whelen Euro Series drivers are flying to Charlotte, North Carolina to take part in a series of activities in the heart of NASCAR that will culminate in the NASCAR Night Of Champions Touring Awards on Saturday, December 10 at the NASCAR Hall Of Fame.

NASCAR Unveils 2017 Whelen Euro Calendar

NASCAR announced today the 2017 NASCAR Whelen Euro Series calendar, with six top European circuits hosting the excitement of NASCAR racing at some of Europe’s most prestigious and historic tracks.

The schedule will take the series to six countries, with twelve rounds of racing for its ELITE Division 1 and ELITE Division 2. Each event will be highlighted by four NASCAR Whelen Euro Series races: Two for the ELITE 1 Division and two for the ELITE 2 Division.

Whelen Euro ELITE 2: Gardel Back In Contention

Gabriele Gardel (#24 PK Carsport Chevrolet SS) took the win by leading flag to flag in a tight ELITE 2 Final 1 at Circuit Zolder. The Swiss won for the second time this year after taking the first Semi Final race at Adria, Italy in September that suddenly propelled him back into title contention, cutting Stienes Longin’s (#11 PK Carsport Chevrolet SS) lead to 26 points as the Belgian experienced technical troubles on the grid finishing 24th .
