Vilarino Marches On

DIJON, France - Ander Vilarino and Anthony Gandon who both won the pole position in their respective divisions – Elite and Open – in qualifying, converted them into Euro-Racecar NASCAR Touring Series victories on Saturday on the Dijon-Prenois circuit. While Vilarino is a regular in Victory Lane, the Frenchman Gandon scored his first series win in only his second start.

QUALIFYING: Vilarino Continues Domination

DIJON, France - Ander Vilarino continued where he left off at Nogaro by dominating the Euro-Racecar NASCAR Touring Series Elite Division qualifying on Friday at the speedy Dijon-Prenois circuit. The Spaniard backed up his top-of-the-charts practice speeds with his second pole win in as many outings this year.

Vilarino (No. 2 TFT Banco-Santander) navigated the 3.801-kilometer (2.362 miles) road course in 82.986 seconds for an average speed of 102.465 mph to earn his seventh career pole position.

Euro-Racecar Release

BLOIS, France – The third and fourth rounds of the Euro-Racecar NASCAR Touring Series season will take place on May 11-12 at the the very quick Dijon-Prenois circuit. Ander Vilarino and Josh Burdon, victorious in both races in the Elite and Open Divisions at Nogaro in the 2013 season opening races, are determined to drive home their advantage. However, they will have to watch in their mirrors for their rivals whose aim will be to dethrone them and don the crown of the Duke of Burgundy.

RDV Competition Adds To Roster

BLOIS, France – Each year RDV Competition expands its scope in the Euro-Racecar NASCAR Touring Series paddock. At the start of the season Franck Violas took on a top driver, and  has now confirmed the entry of a second car for the family team in the Dijon 200, the second round of the 2013 season.

Violas began with the VTS 85 team before branching out on his own in 2012 – the series’ first year under the NASCAR umbrella – and hired Romain Iannetta to handle the driving.

NOGARO, France – Everything has gone right for Ander Vilarino, so far, at Nogaro.

After having the fastest car in practice and winning the pole position, Vilarino kept the pedal to the metal and went wire to wire for a season-opening Euro-Racecar NASCAR Touring Series victory at Circuit Paul Armagnac on Sunday.

Bathed in Easter sunshine, Vilarino, hailing from San Sebastian, Spain, rolled to his seventh career victory and opened the 2013 season in the same fashion as his title-winning campaign a season ago.

QUALIFYING: Vilarino Struts Stuff At Nogaro

NOGARO, France – Marked men sometimes wither under the pressure, but Ander Vilarino is having none of that.

The defending Euro-Racecar NASCAR Touring Series champion looks to be the class of the field in the season-opening Nogaro 200 at Circuit Paul Armagnac. Vilarino was the top performer in Saturday’s qualifying at the 14-turn, 2.260-mile road course with a time of 93.739 seconds for an average speed of 86.794 mph.

Vilarino Leads Euro-Racecar Into Year 2

Ander Vilarino had arrived early for his champions’ photo shoot in the vacant NASCAR Sprint Cup Series garage at Charlotte Motor Speedway last December, when he learned Carl Edwards was filming a Subway spot on the front stretch. The newly-crowned Euro-Racecar Series champion took the opportunity to walk over and introduce himself. He returned from meeting one of NASCAR’s biggest stars with a huge smile and another story to tell back home in an offseason filled with them.

PRACTICE: Vilarino Off To Fast Start

NOGARO, France – Defending Euro-Racecar NASCAR Touring Series champion Ander Vilarino got off to a fast start on Friday in Nogaro 200 practice at Circuit Paul Armagnac.

Vilarino, hailing from Donostia, Spain, made his way around the 14-turn, 2.260-mile road course behind the wheel of his No. 2 TFT/Banco Santander Chevrolet in 94.622 seconds for an average speed of 85.984 mph which was more than a second faster than the second-place car of his teammate Anthony Gandon (No. 7 TFT/E. Leclerc Chevrolet) with a time of 95.739 seconds (84.981 mph).
