Whelen Euro Elite 2: Longin Returns To Victory Lane

It took just a couple of races to Stienes Longin (#11 PK Carsport Chevrolet SS) to return to the Victory Lane for the sixth time this year and it was a special one. The Belgian dominated the ELITE 2 Tours Evenements 75 and grabbed the checkered flag in a Green-White Checkered finish, further reinforcing his points lead before the playoffs.

After climbing on the ELITE 1 podium for the first time in his career in the KNAUF 75 earlier today, Italian rookie Riccardo Geltrude (#7 Double-T by Nocentini Ford Mustang) completed is fantastic day at Tours Speedway by grabbing his first career NASCAR win in the ELITE 2 Whelen 75 with a perfect move on Thomas Ferrando (#37 Knauf Racing Team Ford Mustang) six laps from the Checkered flag.

Whelen Euro Elite 1: Gabillon Leads From Flag To Flag

Frederic Gabillon (#3 Tepac RDV Compétition Ford Mustang) led all 75 laps in the KNAUF 75, the first ELITE 1 race of the weekend at Tours Speedway. The Frenchman went to Victory Lane for the second time this season and took the the points lead by two points over Anthony Kumpen (#24 PK Carsport Chevrolet SS).

Qualifying: Record Pole For Gabillon

Frederic Gabillon (#3 Tepac RDV Compétition Ford Mustang) and Stienes Longin (#11 PK Carsport Chevrolet SS) posted record laps to grab the pole position at Tours Speedway in the fourth round of the 2016 NASCAR Whelen Euro Series season.

The NASCAR Whelen Euro Series drivers are back on track at Tours Speedway for the final meeting of the regular season on the first purpose-built NASCAR short track in Europe. At the end the Friday’s two practice sessions, Anthony Kumpen (#24 PK Carsport Chevrolet SS) led the ELITE 1 division classification thanks to his 16.478 seconds lap around the .403-mile oval. The Belgian, who went .013 seconds below the current track record set by Nicolò Rocca (#56 CAAL Racing Chevrolet SS) in 2015, was followed by NASCAR Next driver Alon Day (#54 CAAL Racing Chevrolet SS). > More

Whelen Euro News & Notes: Tours Speedway

There has been plenty of action and drama in Tours Speedway’s four-year history, from Ben Kennedy’s win in 2012 to Mathias Lauda’s triumph in the rain in 2014 and this season will make no exception. Anything can and will happen this weekend at the first European purpose-built NASCAR oval located in downtown Tours, in the heart of France. The NASCAR Whelen Euro Series regular season will wind down with four 75-lap nail-biting races on the 0.4-mile short track with a tight battle for the points lead in both divisions heading into the summer break.

NWES And Brands Hatch Sign Long Term Extension

At the end of a hugely successful fourth edition of the American SpeedFest, NASCAR Whelen Euro Series and Brands Hatch Circuit announced they signed a 6-year contract extension confirming NWES as the event’s headliner until at least 2022 and SpeedFest as one of the most important American-themed events in Europe.

An outstanding three-way battle for the lead highlighted the first ELITE 2 race of the Brands Hatch American SpeedFest and it was Stienes Longin (#11 PK Carsport Chevrolet SS) who came out the winner over Thomas Ferrando (#37 Knauf Racing Team Ford Mustang) and Salvador Tineo Arroyo (#54 CAAL Racing Chevrolet SS) to grab his fifth consecutive win of the 2016 season.
