DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – NASCAR along with its partner in Mexico, OCESA, announced today that the 2012 NASCAR Toyota Series season finale has been moved to Sunday, Nov. 18 due to a scheduling conflict at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez in Mexico City.
The change was unavoidable and everyone involved believes it is important for the series to conclude its season on the one-mile oval in the Mexican capital.
The race was originally scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 11.> More
SAN LUIS POTOSÍ, Mexico – Daniel Suárez won the Chicks Pole Award in NASCAR Toyota Series qualifying on Saturday for the Potosina 200 at Autódromo Potosino.
Suárez, out of Monterrey, Mexico, made his way around the half-mile oval in 21.576 seconds for an average speed of 83.426 mph behind the wheel of his No. TELCEL Dodge. It is his first pole of the 2012 season, but his third in his last four NASCAR Toyota Series outings dating back to last season.> More
For the season’s second race, the NASCAR Toyota Series makes its way to Autódromo Potosino in San Luis Potosí, Mexico to take on the half-mile oval. Last season, Jorge Goeters edged teammate Rafael Martínez for the win in this event. Practice and qualifying will be on Saturday, April 14 while the Potosino 200 will get underway on Sunday afternoon.> More
MONTERREY, Mexico – Rubén Rovelo won the Regia 200, the NASCAR Toyota Series season opener, on Sunday at Autódromo Monterrey.
Rovelo, out of Mexico City, surrendered the lead to a hard-charging Daniel Suárez on Lap 53, but he stayed close enough to hound the young Suárez for about five laps before Rovelo drove his No. 5 TELMEX Toyota to the inside of Suárez on Lap 60 and eventually beat polesitter Abraham Calderón to the line by 4.930 seconds.> More
MONTERREY, Mexico – Abraham Calderón won the initial NASCAR Toyota Series pole of the 2012 season on Saturday at Autódromo Monterrey in qualifying for the Regia 200.
Calderón, a native of Monterrey, worked his way around the 1.988-mile road course in 69.991 seconds for an average speed of 102.253 mph. It marks his first series career pole.> More
