Tagliani Stays Hot in Edmonton

WETASKIWIN, Alberta – Alex Tagliani might have missed the season opener, but halfway through the NASCAR Pinty’s Series 2016 season, he’s quickly becoming a contender for the championship.

Tagliani took the lead on Lap 88 and pulled away late in the caution-filled Alberta Has New Energy 300 Saturday at Edmonton International Raceway to pick up his third win of the season.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – As the 2016 season for the NASCAR Pinty’s Series nears the midway point Andrew Ranger has proven he is a contender for the championship. 

The Roxton Pond, Quebec, native enters Saturday’s Alberta Has New Energy 300 with a 13-point advantage over rookie Cayden Lapcevich and Kevin Lacroix now third.

Ranger won the inaugural event at Edmonton International Raceway in 2014 after holding off L.P. Dumoulin and Jason Hathaway in a race that was extended to 316 laps due to a late caution.

Tagliani Triumphs in Toronto

TORONTO, Ontario – Alex Tagliani knew holding off Andrew Ranger on a green-white-checkered finish was going to be tough in the closing laps of the Pinty’s Grand Prix of Toronto – and the veteran was correct.

Tagliani edged Ranger by just .184 seconds to score the closest win in the history of the race held at Honda Indy Toronto. It was the second win of the season for Tagliani and fourth overall in his career.

Kevin Lacroix followed in third with L.P. Dumoulin and Kerry Micks rounding out the top five.
