BARRIE, ONT - After a road course event two weeks ago at Mosport International Speedway, the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series presented by Sirius Satellite Radio was back on an oval track. The tight .333-mile bullring of Barrie Speedway is the site for this round and the A&W 300.
NASCAR and track officials along with the race teams have had to battle rain in the area all day. As a result of the inclement weather, this afternoon’s practice session was cut short. However, all cars were able to take hot laps.> More
Traveling from track to track and series to series has garnered much attention this season thanks to the exploits of Kyle Busch, who has used helicopters and jets to work his way between tracks to compete in NASCAR’s top three series.
The NASCAR Canadian Tire Series presented by Sirius Satellite Radio has its own version of Busch in D.J. Kennington (No. 17 Castrol/NPP Dodge). Kennington’s travels from the NASCAR Nationwide Series to the Canadian Tire Series, however, come via cars and pick-up trucks.> More
BOWMANVILLE, Ont. – J.R. Fitzpatrick (No. 84 Fitzpatrick Motorsports Chevrolet) used his one and only chance to get to Victory Lane for the first time since Edmonton last July. The chance came on the final lap of the Dickies 200 presented by Lucas Oil at Mosport International Raceway when he had to work past two cars on a wet race track. On that final lap, the Cambridge, Ont., driver overtook D.J. Kennington (No. 17 Castrol/NPP Dodge) and teammate Don Thomson Jr. (No. 4 Home Hardware Chevrolet).> More
BOWMANVILLE, Ont. – Scott Steckly (No. 22 Tow Truck in a Box/Erb Group Dodge) continued his recent dominance of the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series presented by Sirius Satellite Radio Saturday by establishing a new track record and winning the pole for Sunday’s Dickies 200 presented by Lucas Oil.
The Milverton, Ont., driver navigated the 2.459-mile road course at Mosport International Raceway in 85.375 seconds for an average speed of 103.688 mph. That bested the track record set a year ago by Andrew Ranger (No. 27 Wal-Mart/Tide Ford) by .061 seconds.> More
BOWMANVILLE, Ont. – The two morning practice sessions for the Dickies 200 presented by Lucas Oil, the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series event at Mosport International Raceway are in the books and Mark Dilley (No. 9 Dodge/Leland Dodge) posted the fastest time at 1:25.725 which works out to an average lap speed of 104.987 mph.
The 29-car field had a pair of 30-minute practice sessions to shake out their cars on the 2.459-mile road course situated in the rolling hills of Ontario, east of Toronto.> More
NASCAR Canadian Tire Series driver Alex Tagilani was in Toronto for the 5th Annual Wal-Mart Walk for Miracles on June 8. Gathered along Lakeshore Boulevard, supporters took part in fundraising for children’s hospitals across Canada.
Tagliani, a Quebec native, was there along with his No. 7 Wal-Mart/Ubisoft Ford greeting fans and signing autographs.> More
Jarrad Whissell has been road racing for the past three seasons and now he wants to see how he stacks up against Canada’s best stock car racers on the 2.459-mile road course of Mosport International Raceway. The event will be his NASCAR Canadian Tire Series presented by Sirius Satellite Radio debut. The Whissell Motorsports team intends to compete at all four road course events on the Canadian Tire Series schedule in 2008.> More
Some say his style is to intimidate on the track. He says it is a desire to win and nothing more. Either way, Kerry Micks (No. 02 Beyond Digital Imaging Ford) is a hard-nosed racer whose experience tells him to use every tool at his disposal to achieve his goals.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The NASCAR Canadian Tire Series presented by Sirius Satellite Radio event at Autodrome St. Eustache in Quebec has been re-scheduled to July 5.
Weekend rains in the Montreal area on Saturday, May 31 and Sunday, June 1 allowed drivers only an abbreviated practice session on Sunday morning. The July 5 event will include the full schedule of events with a practice session and time trials prior to the running of the National Kodak 250.> More
ST. EUSTACHE, Que. – The National Kodak 250 at Autodrome St. Eustache has been postponed due to inclement weather for the second straight day. NASCAR and track officials are working on a re-scheduled date for the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series presented by Sirius Satellite Radio event. An announcement will be made once plans are finalized.
Drivers were able to get a practice session in this morning, but an early afternoon rain shower dampened the track once again. Track officials tried for several hours to dry the track to no avail.> More
