PRACTICE: Burton Leads The Way In Memphis

MILLINGTON, Tenn. -- Harrison Burton was quickest in NASCAR K&N Pro Series East final practice for the Memphis 125 Presented by AutoZone on Saturday afternoon, turning a fast lap of 112.285 mph (24.046 seconds) around the 3/4-mile asphalt oval.

Burton's fastest lap in the No. 12 DEX Imaging Toyota came on his 36th circuit of the session with only five minutes remaining. Burton currently leads the K&N East points standings, has won two of the last three events and has finished inside the top five in every race this season.

Burton Keeps The Momentum Going

SOUTH BOSTON, Va. - Harrison Burton continued his winning ways Saturday night when he won the second WhosYourDriver.org 100 at South Boston Speedway.

With just three laps to go, rookie Chase Purdy, who was on the inside of race leader, Todd Gilliland, jumped the restart and opened the door for 16-year-old Burton to challenge Gilliland for the lead. The Huntersville, N.C., teen was able to pilot his No. 12 DEX Imaging Toyota past Gilliland to earn his second NASCAR K&N Pro Series East victory in a span of two weeks.

SOUTH BOSTON, Va. - Chase Cabre captured his first-career 21 Means 21 Pole on Saturday at South Boston Speedway.

In only his fourth NASCAR K&N Pro Series East start Cabre, the driver of the No. 4 Max Siegel, Inc. Toyota broke the track record with a lap of 14.711 seconds to sit on the pole for the WhosYourDriver.org Twin 100s. The previous record was held by Danville, Virginia's Peyton Sellers, who clocked a 15.582 second lap in June 2007.

PRACTICE: Burton Tops Speed Charts At South Boston

SOUTH BOSTON, Va. - Harrison Burton topped the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East practice session at South Boston Speedway with a blazing lap on Saturday.

The current points leader following his first series career win at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway, ran a lap of 14.651 seconds to win the one and only practice session this weekend. The 16-year-old's run was .931 seconds ahead of the track record (15.582 seconds) which was set by Danville, Virginia's, Peyton Sellers in 2007.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — After several years away, the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East returns to South Boston Speedway Saturday for the WhosYourDriver.org Twin 100s. And race fans will have several familiar names and faces competing at the Virginia short track.

Most notably, NASCAR Next driver Harrison Burton is coming off his first career series win. The 16-year-old from Huntersville, North Carolina, won the rain-shortened race at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway and assumed the series points lead.
