QUALIFYING: Burton Wins Jet Tools 150 Pole

Earns Top Spot For K&N Pro East Opener At New Smyrna

NEW SMYRNA, Fla. – Harrison Burton won the 21 Means 21 Pole Award for Sunday night’s Jet Tools 150 at New Smyrna Speedway.

Burton ran an 18.348-second lap to top the speed chart during group qualifying. The effort marks his second career pole in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East. The last time that Burton started from the pole, he went on to win at Bristol Motor Speedway, his only victory in the series. The Huntersville, North Carolina ,native finished 13th in last year’s race at New Smyrna, but so far this weekend, his No 12. DEX Imaging Toyota was one of fastest cars at the speedway.

Starting alongside of Burton on the front row will be Spencer Davis in the No. 96 Toyota. Davis also started second in the race at New Smyrna last season, but he came up short for a runner-up finish. 

Dillon Bassett in the No. 44 Bassett Gutters and More Ford will start third. Last year, Bassett had a rough night at New Smyrna Speedway. He started 15th and finished 27th. 

Sheldon Creed will start fourth, and defending Jet Tools 150 winner Todd Gilliland will start fifth. Completing the top 10 in qualifying were Derek Kraus, Ronnie Bassett Jr., Tyler Dippel, Chase Cabre and Reid Wilson.

Sunday night’s race is set to begin at 7:30 p.m. ET. Kids 11 years old and younger are free with adult admission.

The Jet Tools 150 at New Smyrna Speedway will air on the NBCSN on Saturday, February 25 at 10 p.m. ET.
