ROSEBURG, Ore. -- As the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West championship battle between Todd Gilliland and Chris Eggleston winds down, each put their best foot forward in Saturday's practice for the Clint Newell Toyota 150 presented by NAPA Auto Parts at Douglas County Speedway.
Gilliland's No. 16 NAPA Auto Parts Toyota posted the fastest overall time in the two 45-minute sessions with a lap of 15.154 (89.085) around the .375-mile semi-banked oval. Eggleston, who was third quick in the first practice, led the final session at 15.191 (88.868).
Michael Self was second in both, with a lap of 15.394 (87.697) in the first practice and 15.224 (88.676) in the second.
Nicole Behar and Sunoco Rookie of the Year candidate Derek Kraus were fourth and fifth, respectively.
Ron Norman was sixth overall, followed by Blaine Perkins, Julia Landauer, Will Rodgers and Todd Souza.
Gilliland leads Eggleston in the overall standings by two points (434-432) with four races remaining.
Qualifying for the Clint Newell Toyota 150 is scheduled for 5:15 p.m. PT, with the green flag slated for 8 p.m.
