QUALIFYING: Mayhew Wins Colorado Pole

Series Veteran Wins 10th Award In K&N Pro West

DACONO, Colo. -- David Mayhew won the Coors Light Pole award at Colorado National Speedway ahead of the NAPA Auto Parts/Toyota 150 NASCAR K&N Pro Series West event on Saturday night.

The Atascadero, California, native went out second-to-last and turned in a fast lap of 16.829 seconds (79.149 mph) around the .375-mile semi-banked oval. It was the 10th pole award for Mayhew and his second of 2014.

Brandon McReyonlds was second quickest with a time of 16.891 seconds (78.859). McReyonlds turned in the fastest lap of the two practice sessions earlier in the afternoon and was on the provisional pole before Mayhew's qualifying lap. 

Track Super Late Model regular Chris Eggleston was third quickest at 16.942 seconds (78.621), followed by Greg Pursley and Dylan Lupton.

Rookie James Bickford, Jack Nugent, Thomas Martin, Brett Thompson and Jairo Avila rounded out the top 10 qualifiers.

Green flag for the NAPA Auto Parts/Toyota 150 is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. MT.
