PRACTICE: Elliott Paces The Field At Phoenix

K&N West Teams Prepare For Final Race Of 2012

AVONDALE, Ariz. - Chase Elliott turned in the fast time on Friday, to lead both practice sessions for the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West at Phoenix International Raceway.

After having the quick time in the first session on Thursday, Elliott returned to top Friday's final practice session with a lap of 27.265 seconds (132.037 mph).

The second-generation competitor from Dawsonville, Ga., is making his third appearance in NASCAR K&N Pro Series West competition at Phoenix.

Cale Conley was second quickest in Friday's 50-minute practice session, with a lap of 27.397 seconds (131.401 mph). He was followed by Bryan Ortiz, Michael Self and Cameron Hayley. Dylan Kwasniewski, Johnny Borneman, Eric Holmes, Derek Thorn and Brian Wong completed the top 10.

Defending champion Greg Pursley was 14th on the practice chart on Friday. Kwasniewski leads Pursley by two points in the championship standings heading into this final event of the season.

Qualifying is set for 8:30 a.m. Saturday, with the race following later that day at 5 p.m.
