TOOLE, Utah – Series points leader Derek Thorn led practice for the iOn Camera Utah Grand Prix at Miller Motorsports Park Saturday as he looks for his fourth NASCAR K&N Pro Series West win of the season.
Thorn, who holds a 23 point lead over Cameron Hayley in the standings, had a lap of 1 minute, 35.199 seconds (83.194 mph) around the 2.2-mile road course outside of Salt Lake City.
Qualifying is set for 1:30 p.m. MT and the Utah Grand Prix at 4:25 p.m.
Hayley, winner of six 21 Means 21 Pole Award by Coors Brewing Co., was second fastest with a lap of 1:35.338 (83.073), followed by three-time event winner Greg Pursley at 1:35.378 (83.038).
Two-time NASCAR Canadian Tire Series presented by Mobil 1 champion Andrew Ranger was fourth, followed by Matt Tift in fifth.
Michael Self, Dylan Lupton, Daryl Harr, Austin Cameron and Dylan Hutchinson rounded out the top 10 in practice.
