ROSEVILLE, Calif. – In just his third qualifying run in a NASCAR Camping World Series West car, Paulie Harraka captured his first career Coors Light Pole Award for Saturday night’s Toyota/NAPA Auto Parts 150 by Thunder Valley at All American Speedway.
Harraka, the 2008 Late Model division champion at All American, turned a fast lap of 13.630 seconds (87.953 mph) in qualifying Saturday evening and will sit start his No. 12 Drive for Diversity/ESEF Apparel Toyota on the pole for the 150-lap season finale that is set to go green at 8:45 p.m.
Harraka will be joined in the front row for Saturday night’s feature by Jason Bowles (No. 22 Sunrise Ford Ford), who recorded the second-fastest time in qualifying at 13.668 seconds (87.709 mph). Points leader Eric Holmes (No. 20 NAPA Auto Parts Toyota) was third fastest at 13.688 (87.580).
Holmes enters the final race of the season with a 68-point lead on Bowles. Holmes is searching for his second career NASCAR Camping World Series West championship following his title in 2006, while Boles is vying for his first.
In the season-opener at All American Speedway, Bowles captured the Coors Light Pole Award and Holmes reached Victory Lane. The pair were also the fastest cars in afternoon practice.
Blake Koch was fourth fastest in qualifying at 13.775 seconds (87.027 mph) and Daryl Harr (13.814/86.782) came in fifth.
