DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Ken Keiffer, an official in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West, died Thursday at the age of 60.
Keiffer of Rochester, Wash., served as an inspector for the series.
"Ken was a very dedicated NASCAR official who will be missed,” said Series Director Joey Mancari. “Our thoughts and prayers are with his family."
Keiffer had worked with the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West as well as the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series since 2007. Prior to that, he and his wife, Irene, both served as officials with the former NASCAR Northwest Tour. His greatest joy among his duties with the tour was driving the caution car.
Keiffer, who away from racing drove a truck for Budweiser for 20 years, started working at South Sound Speedway in Tenino, Wash., in 1988 – serving as the Chief Steward and later as the Race Director.
There is no memorial service scheduled at this time.
