GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Ty Dillon is looking to follow in his brother's footsteps and make his mark at Greenville Pickens Speedway. Ty Dillon was fastest in Saturday's NASCAR K&N Pro Series East practice at the half-mile oval that his older brother, Austin, collected his first NASCAR win at in 2008.
Ty Dillon topped the speed charts with a lap of 21.054 seconds (85.494 mph) with his top time in the second practice. Qualifying for the Kevin Whitaker Chevrolet 150 will be at 6 p.m. and green flag at 8 p.m.
Defending series champion Ryan Truex was second quick at 21.077 (85.401), followed by Cole Whitt, Darrell Wallace Jr., and Kevin Swindell. The top seven in second practice - which also included Andrew Smith and Brett Moffitt - had faster laps in the second practice than Matt Kobyluck's leading time of 21.239 (84.750) from the first practice.
Corey LaJoie and Todd Peck each suffered major damage to their cars in separate incidents during practice.
