MONTREAL -- A few early notes from Montreal as NASCAR Canadian Tire Series presented by Mobil 1 teams prepare for Sunday's NAPA Autopro 100 that will be telecast live by both TSN and RDS.
Bourque Eyes NASCAR Nationwide Series Debut In Montreal
NASCAR Canadian Tire Series presented by Mobil 1 driver Pierre Bourque will make his debut in the NASCAR Nationwide Series on Sunday, August 29th at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal driving the No. 61 Avaya Toyota entry prepared by Specialty Racing, out of Statesville, N.C.
“This is a tremendous opportunity and real thrill for me,” said Bourque. “I can’t think of a better place to make my first (NASCAR) Nationwide Series run than here in Canada and on this fantastic track.”
Bourque scored a seventh-place finish in last year’s Canadian Tire series race on the legendary Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.
Fantrax Fantasy Sports Partners With Micks Micks Motorsports

Joining up with Kerry was a simple choice as we both have similar MO’s. We are both known entities in our respective fields, but are also both battling bigger and more established organizations as we chase our dreams of reaching the top.” Stated Lee Kleiner, President, Fantrax.

Kennington Back In NASCAR Nationwide Series Car
Due to effects following two hard crashes during last weekend’s event at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway, Eric McClure will be sidelined for this weekend’s NASCAR Nationwide Series event in Montreal. DJ Kennington, NASCAR Canadian Tire Series driver, and friend of McClure, will pilot the No. 24 Team Rensi Motorsports entry during the NAPA Auto Parts 200 at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.
This weekend’s event will mark the 33-year-old driver’s 46th career Nationwide Series start and fourth at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve if he can earn one of the 43-starting positions.
“While I’m sorry that (McClure) isn’t able to drive the car this week, I’m really happy to be working with him and the No. 24 team. This opportunity came pretty late but we’ve had great support from our longtime sponsor Castrol and Hitachi Power Tools which came on board this year,” said Kennington. “ I’m glad to have them on board with us for this race. I’ve run quite a bit at this track and I believe we can have a very strong finish.”
McColm Adds Race Time Radio
McColm will add Race Time Radio, Shell Rotella, Sirius Satellite Radio, and The Score Satellite Radio as sponsors on his NASCAR Canadian Tire Series entry for the Aug. 29 NAPA Autopro 100 on Montreal’s Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.
McColm cracked the top 10 in the point standings for the first time in his young career following a 10th-place finish on Aug. 21 in the Dickies 200 at Mosport Speedway.
