Tops Speed Charts As Whelen Mod Leader Preece Keeps Pace

OSWEGO, N.Y. -- As the fierce battle for the championship nears its end, the top two drivers in the points standings each showed their strength in Saturday’s practice for the Toyota Mod Classic 150 presented by McDonald’s at Oswego Speedway. 

Fresh off his victory at Seekonk, Doug Coby posted the fastest overall time in the two practice sessions with a time of 17.592 (127.899). Point leader Ryan Preece was quickest in the first practice session, and third fastest overall, posting a time of 17.699 (127.126) around the .625 mile oval.

Matt Hirschman was second overall, with a lap of 17.618 (127.710) in the final practice.

Max Zachem and Patrick Emerling were fourth and fifth, respectively.

Kyle Ebersole was sixth overall, followed by Dave Sapienza, Eric Goodale, Justin Bonsignore, and Craig Lutz. 

Preece leads Coby in the overall standings by two points (413-411) with five races remaining.

Qualifying for the Toyota Mod Classic 150 is scheduled for 6:00 p.m ET, with the green flag slated for 7:00 p.m.
