Dillon Wins Gresham For First Career Victory

JEFFERSON, Ga. - Ty Dillon captured his first win in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East with a victory in the American Fence Association 150 presented by Mayfield Ice Creamier at Gresham Motorsports Park on Saturday.

Dillon, the 18-year-old grandson of NASCAR Sprint Cup Series car owner Richard Childress, inherited the top spot when the two leaders got together late in the event and then held on to win the action-filled race that concluded with a yellow-checkered finish.

JEFFERSON, Ga. - The drivers praised the facility. Track management beamed about having NASCAR back after a long absence. And fans stood and cheered vociferously from driver introductions right through the checkered flag.

Ty Dillon's victory in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East American Fence Association 150 Saturday night came in the first NASCAR race held at Gresham Motorsports Park since a NASCAR All-Pro Series event in July of 1996 and first race for one of its top series since 1987.

QUALIFYING: Swindell Takes Gresham Pole

JEFFERSON, Ga. – Kevin Swindell grabbed the Coors Light Pole Award for the second straight race in NASCAR K&N Pro Series East action, turning the fast-lap in qualifying on Saturday in the inaugural series visit to Gresham Motorsports Park.

The 21-year-old series rookie from Germantown, Tenn., turned a lap of 17.152 seconds (104.994 mph) around the half-mile oval during time trials for the American Fence Association 150 presented by Mayfield Ice Creamier.

PRACTICE: Truex Shows The Way At Gresham

JEFFERSON, Ga. – In the inaugural appearance for the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East at Gresham Motorsports Park, Ryan Truex laid down the fastest lap of two practice sessions Saturday in preparation for the American Fence Association 150 presented by Mayfield Ice Creamier.

The points leader coming into tonight’s race, Truex toured the banked half-mile in 17.292 seconds (104.094 mph) to pace the field in the 50-minute final afternoon practice. He was also third-fastest in the 60-minute morning session at 17.532 (102.669).
