MILLVILLE, N.J. – Chase Cabre paced the field in the one and only practice session for the JUSTDRIVE.com 125 at New Jersey Motorsports Park for the series’ first of two stops at a road course in 2018.
Cabre jumped to the top of the board late in Saturday’s practice session with a time of 1:26.068 (94.112 mph) in his No. 4 E3 Spark Plugs Toyota around the 2.250 mile road course.
Chase’s older brother, Collin Cabre, won the pole for this race in 2017.
Ernie Francis Jr., who is making his NASCAR K&N Pro Series debut as a teammate of Cabre with Rev Racing, was second in practice. The 20-year-old four-time Trans Am champion turned a lap of 1:26.223 (93.942 mph).
Defending race winner Will Rodgers was third at 1:26.280 (93.880 mph). Rodgers swept the road course races with the series in 2017.
DGR-Crosley teammates, Tyler Dippel and Tyler Ankrum, were fourth and fifth, respectively.
Ruben Garcia Jr., Grant Quinlan, David Levine, Ryan Vargas and Anthony Alfredo make up the top 10.
Teams will return to the track at 2:30 p.m. ET for group qualifying, followed by the green flag at 6 p.m.
