QUALIFYING: LP Dumoulin Thunders to Chaudiere Pole

VALLEE-JONCTION, Que — LP Dumoulin scored the E3 Spark Plugs Pole Award for the Bumper to Bumper 300 Saturday at Autodrome Chaudiere.

Dumoulin’s No.47 Weathertech Canada Dodge set a lap time of 13.193 seconds (68.218mph) around the .250-mile bullring to claim his first pole of the 2018 season. His time was not quick enough however to beat the track record of 12.953 seconds set by Alex Labbe in 2016.

The 39-year-old driver from Trois-Rivieres, Quebec’s best finish at Autodrome Chaudiere is a third place result last season. Dumoulin looks to score his second win of the season.

Kerry Micks will start second with a time of 13.274/ 67.802. This marks the series veteran’s first front row start since the 2013 Clarington 200 at the CTMP Oval Track.

Andrew Ranger will start third with a time of 13.319/ 67.573

Donald Theetge and Cole Powell completed the top five.

Marc-Antoine Camirand, D.J Kennington, Points leader Kevin Lacroix, Simon Dion-Viens and JF Dumoulin round out the top 10.

The green flag for the Bumper to Bumper 300 is scheduled to drop at 8 p.m.
