Trio of NASCAR Pinty’s Series drivers to compete at ISM Raceway

Two-time Pinty’s Series champion DJ Kennington joins Jason White and Donald Theetge in Arizona this weekend.

Kennington, who won the season finale for the Pinty’s Series at Jukasa Motor Speedway in September, will make his third start of the season for Premium Motorsports and 10th overall in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series.

Kennington has made seven starts for Gaunt Brothers Racing as well in the Cup Series and will also compete in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series at ISM Raceway as well this weekend.

Kennington has made a combined 73 starts in the three NASCAR national series since 2006. His best finish to date was an 11th-place showing in the NASCAR Xfinity Series in Montreal in 2010.

Joining Kennington in the truck race will be Sun Peak, British Columbia native Jason White. White, who’s been competing in the Pinty’s Series since 2007, will make his second start of the season driving for Reaume Brothers Racing.

His first start was earlier this season at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park in August finishing 23rd and he’s ready to return to the US in the truck series.

Doug George will crew chief the truck for Reaume Brothers Racing and White is looking forward to driving for the organization again.

“This is the perfect situation to return to the Truck Series,” said White.  “Doug and I hit it off so well our first time out, the team made things so easy for me to slide in and we showed some real potential.  We need to qualify on time so knowing this track and having a well prepared truck will be key,” he added.

Although it’s just his second start in a truck, White felt he adapted quickly in his first start a few months ago.

“I want to get better every session,” said White. “I’m confident we can be quick enough to make the race on time.  From there the goal is to have a clean race, go the distance and bring the Truck home in good shape.”

“I’m super happy to have my longtime friend and partner Rob Zimmer and the Zimmer Weaton Group and aboard with us this weekend, we wouldn’t be here without them”.

Theetge, who just completed his first full-time season in the Pinty’s Series scoring his first win and finishing seventh in the final points standings, will be making his second NASCAR Xfinity Series start of the season.

The Boischatel, Quebec native joined fellow Quebec native Mario Gosselin and competed as a teammate with Alex Labbe at New Hampshire Motor Speedway over the summer finishing 33rd.
