QUALIFYING: Justin Bonsignore On Point For Spring Sizzler

STAFFORD, Conn. — Justin Bonsignore is chasing his first career win at Stafford Motor Speedway. He’s showing plenty of reason that it may come at the NAPA Spring Sizzler 200.

Bonsignore, who has been fastest in practice, won the Mayhew Tools Dominator Pole Award in qualifying for Saturday afternoon’s NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour race.

Bonsignore had a lap of 17.835 seconds (100.925 mph) around the half-mile in his No. 51 Phoenix Communications Inc. Chevrolet to edge Doug Coby and Chris Pasteryak. Coby, an 11-time winner at Stafford, qualified second at 17.929 (100.396). Pasteryak was third at 18.061 (99.662).

It was Bonsignore’s 11th career pole and third at Stafford. He finished 12th after qualifying first in the NAPA Fall Final last year in the race in which he clinched his first tour championship.
