QUALIFYING: Chase Cabre Earns Third Pole of Season at Gateway

MADISON, Ill. — For the fifth time in his career and third time this season, Chase Cabre will lead the K&N Pro Series to green and roll off first.

He earned the pole for the Monaco Cocktails Gateway Classic 125 presented by the West Coast Stock Car Hall of Fame at Worldwide Technology Raceway at Gateway with a quick lap of 32.882 seconds around the 1.25-mile oval.

The Rev Racing driver was able to lay down a lap to barely best David Gilliland (32.887), even after brushing the wall earlier in practice. Despite being 22 points back of the championship lead, the Tampa, Florida native is not counting himself out.

Cabre and K&N East championship points leader Sam Mayer had been trading blows this season, but talked it out and have put their differences aside for the final three races of the season.

Mayer (33.031), Spencer Davis (33.111) and Max McLaughlin (33.171) rounded out the top five quickest speeds. Tanner Gray, Ruben Garcia Jr., Colin Garrett, Trevor Huddleston and Hailie Deegan completed the top 10. K&N West championship leader Derek Kraus will start 12th.

QUALIFYING RESULTS

There was one stoppage in the session for Brittney Zamora, who blew an engine on her first lap for Bill McAnally Racing. She will roll off 19th after failing to record a completed lap.

The green flag for the Monaco Cocktails 125 is scheduled to fly at 4:35 p.m. CDT. FansChoice.TV will have live coverage of the event.
