With several marquee short track victories to his credit and a solid resume of Late Model success, 16-year-old racer Giovanni Bromante is ready to make the next step in his racing career.
“We are extremely pleased to have Giovanni driving for Visconti Motorsports and representing us in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series. He has talent that far exceeds his age. We feel that the combination of his talent behind the wheel and the quality equipment that we bring to the track each week will be a recipe for success,” said John Visconti.
Bromante, a Lattingtown, New York native, has signed with Visconti Motorsports for the 2020 season and will compete full time in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East with the possibility of running select events in the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series.
“I am very excited for next season,” said Bromante, winner of two Southern Super Series Super Late Model events in 2019 including the prestigious Rattler 250. “Most of all, I’m just extremely thankful to have the ability to move up in my career and to get closer to the top levels of the sport.
“The Visconti Motorsports team has already proven to be a championship-caliber team in the K&N Pro Series and I’m really looking forward to working with them. I love learning a new type of car and I’m always up for a new challenge, so it will be great having their experience on my side next season.”
The decision to move forward with Visconti Motorsports in 2020 was an easy one for Bromante and his family. The team is owned by fellow Long Islander and former racer John Visconti, III and his wife, Marie Visconti. When the Bromante family met with Visconti to discuss their 2020 racing plans, it was a natural fit for both sides to work together to advance the young racer’s career.
“It is very special to work with a Long Island team owner,” said Bromante. “It is very rare to have a team from New York working at that high of a level. It felt right to me and my family and I couldn’t be more excited to join Visconti Motorsports next year.”
As a young team in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East, Visconti Motorsports has already picked up one victory and has finished in the top five in nearly half of their starts. Bromante will have Visconti Motorsports team manager, Bruce Cook calling the shots and overseeing race day operations. The Visconti team will also continue to utilize the resources of top-level NASCAR teams when necessary.
“I think the biggest challenge will be getting used to the car,” said Bromante. “It’s just a different animal and a different driving style than a Super Late Model, but I know the team will give me every opportunity to learn and succeed.”
The Reichert Group, which owns and operates several IGA grocery stores throughout the Long Island area, will be an associate sponsor for the Visconti team.
