While the Daytona 500 is one of the most anticipated events of the NASCAR season, the other races during the speed-week offer even more action for fans and drivers. Many NASCAR Pinty’s Series regulars have put their best foot forward in an attempt to win during this week.
D.J. Kennington has competed in the 500 twice, with a best finish of 24th in 2018. Alex Labbe competed in the NASCAR Xfinity Series season opener in 2018 finishing 24th as well.
This season, however, you can find a few different names on the entry lists for these events.
White, a Pinty’s Series regular, is set to make his first start at Daytona in the NASCAR Gander RV and Outdoors Truck Series. In 2019, the Suns Peak, B.C. native attempted to qualify for the race but fell short. This year, White will race with Josh Reaume Racing in the No. 33 Chevrolet.
White had a good finish at Daytona last Saturday in the ARCA Menards Series, qualifying fourth and finishing sixth.
Another notable NASCAR Pinty’s Series figure taking on the NGOTS this Friday will be Quebec’s own Lessard. The 18-year-old announced in November that he would be racing full-time in 2020 with Kyle Busch Motorsports in the No. 4 Truck. Daytona will mark Lessard’s sixth start in the series and first at Daytona.
