PRACTICE: Late Run Puts Patrick Emerling Fastest At White Mountain


NORTH WOODSTOCK, N.H. — Patrick Emerling topped the speed charts Saturday afternoon as the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour returned to White Mountain Motorsports Park.

Emerling piloted the No. 07 Chevrolet around the quarter-mile paved oval in 11.505 seconds (78.227 mph) on his 40th and final lap of the one-hour practice session in advance of Saturday night’s White Mountain Showdown 200.

Anthony Nocella, making his first start in the No. 82 Horton Avenue Materials Chevrolet, was second quick at 11.582 (77.707).

Tommy Catalano, who was fastest for most of practice, settled for third at 11.605 (77.553). Timmy Solomito and Chris Pasteryak were fourth and fifth, respectively.

Matt Swanson, Doug Coby, Rob Summers, Jon McKennedy and Eric Goodale completed the top 10.

Justin Bonsignore, who won the Independence Day 200 at White Mountain on July 4 and has won the first two tour races of 2020, was 15th fastest of 28 cars to practice.

Qualifying is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. ET, and the race is at 7 p.m. It will stream live on TrackPass on NBC Gold.
